Two Light Luxury Apartments
Downtown Kansas City, Missouri Meets Sterling Dula Railings in the Best Way Possible; on the facade of the gorgeous new Two Light Luxury Apartments.
The Two Light Luxury Apartment Complex is the epitome of modern opulence, dripping with amenities galore.
From a "floating" sun deck that extends beyond the edge of the building, to a high-end spa, club lounge, entertainment kitchen, gym and party room, it's clear that no detail was spared on the 296-unit property - especially when the time came to select the elegant railings and dividers from Kane Innovations' Sterling Dula brand.
The project, which included over 2,700 lft of Sterling Dula product, was Kane Innovations' very first in the "Show Me" state's largest city.
The design for Two Light Apartments changed very early in the construction process to include more balconies than originally planned. Initially, 86 standard balconies and 90 juliet balconies - the latter of which are known as door guards - were specified for the 25-story high rise. Nearly 50 of the juliets were swapped for standard balcony rail following owner-acquired permission from the city to build beyond previous overhang limits.
For general contractor, JE Dunn Construction, this was a complicated change. However, for Kane, the solution was as simple as adding more material per slab while making other small design adjustments for mounting.
The final result was 134 Chesterfield-style, two-line, standard balcony railings with 3/8" clear, tempered glass and 42 juliet balconies/door guards. Six-foot divider panels were also included on a number of balconies and fabricated with 3/8" clear tempered glass, acid etched on one side. Sterling Dula parapet handrail can also be found on the exterior.
Two Light was only the second residential tower built in downtown Kansas City since 1976, officially opening to the public in May of 2018.
At the time of this writing, a sister property, Three Light, is slated for development in early 2019.
